Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.
Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for Diabetics
Village Inn offers very few items edible for diabetics without any threat. You can avoid sandwiches and burgers at Village Inn and try the light breakfast items on the menu. You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. Avoid Soup bowls and opt for cups instead at Village Inn.

2 Egg Low-Cholesterol Egg Substitute Omelette with Part-Skim Mozzarella
If you are concerned about high blood pressure, then you must try food items from the kid's menu at Village Inn as most food items on their regular menu are high in sodium. Among the omelets, avoid Denver Omelette, Country Music Star Omelette, and French Spinach & Bacon Omelette. You must also skip Sandwiches and All-World Double Cheeseburger every time you visit Village Inn.

You can try the salad items, juices, or light breakfast items from the menu to keep the cholesterol in check. You can also try food from the kid's menu to ensure that you consume fewer calories than usual.

Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Village Inn
Enjoyed my first Village Inn AYCE Friday Cod Fry ($11.95) and though the breading on the bottom of the fish was a tad moist on one portion, after mentioning it to my server, all other portions were fine. Comes with unlimited seasoned fries and slaw. Had 2 portions of slaw and because not a huge fries fan, only one portion. My server was spot on until the place got slammed, but she did the best she could and everyone seemed to help each other at that point.

I was pleasantly surprised with the food here. I had the 2x2x2 with scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and buttermilk pancakes. The eggs were perfect, and the turkey sausage was probably the best I've had in a long time. Definitely get the pancakes here if you get a choice cause they are delicious. Free slice of pie on Wednesday as well. This place could be 5 stars if the service matched the food.
For the longest time, I have wanted a place in Winter Garden that felt like a local diner... like the ones we had up north. Granted, we have Denny's, Perkins, and a handful of local spots to choose from, but they are all a drive away from my home. Village Inn is located about 2 miles from my house and we were happy to see Mimi's leave and Village Inn take its place. They have only been open for about two weeks now and we decided to go for breakfast on a sunday morning... at 10 am...which would be crazy but we tried it anyway. When we got there, the hostess took our name and told us it would be a 10 min wait. I only took a few min before we got seated and this great server named Sean greeted us. He was really nice and took our drink order and came back a few moments later with our coffee. He then said he would give us a few min to look at a menu and left. Now this is were it goes off track a bit... another server (we will call him "Jim" to protect his identity but I am sure he will not be working there very much longer) came up and asked us if we were ready to order. We did and he left. Time went by and I soon noticed people seated after us were getting their food. I flagged down another server and asked about our order. She said she would be right back. A few moments later, that manager of the place came over, apologized and said "I have to be honest, your order was never put in..." He then went on to explain that it was a confusion between the two servers. When Sean saw "Jim" taking our order, he assumed he would take care of us even though it was not his table. When "Jim" found out is was not his table to serve, he never put our order in because he assumed Sean did. Since this place is brand new, we were okay with all this knowing snafus happen when people are learning. Management apologized so many times including the big wigs visiting for the first few weeks who are there to make sure everything runs smoothly. With in two min, our food arrived. Everything tasted great and everyone came over to make sure it was okay. They were honest and truly sorry for "Jim's" mistake. Unfortunately, I also heard the table next to us which did belong to "Jim" complaining to management about him. Again, I don't think we will see "Jim" in future visits. After our meal, the manager asked us what type of pie we liked... we told him and with in a few min, pie arrived! We could not have been taken care of so well. The staff was great and they went above and beyond to fix things. I then asked for the check and the corporate manager came over and said that there would be no charge for todays mistake. I don't remember any place doing that for me ever! We were willing to pay for our meal but they would not have it and said they just hope we would return again to allow them the chance to show them how good their food and service is. We will return and ask for Sean. They get 5 stars from me because of their commitment to service and their guests. The food was good and I look forward to calling this Village Inn our new local place to eat. Atmosphere 9 Food 9 Service 11 (out of 10) For friendly service, good food and a clean place to eat, I highly recommend the Village Inn. Enjoy and remember to ask for Sean! PS... no not believe those first two reviews. They must be fake and like someone else said, done by disgruntled employees like "Jim" who can't give good service.

I would close this place down as soon as possible! We only saw our waiter when he took our order and later to bring us the check that was already given to us by a third waitress. My girlfriend's steak was rare when ordered well done, sent it back to finish cooking and it came back sill half rare. They made a second steak finally cooked correctly, but still yet her srimp was over cooked. We had to ask 3 different waitresses for A1 Steak Sauce to finally get some. Service of course was bad, and the manager ended up being our main wsiter. Poor guy. Do not go here if you want a good meal and good service.

The inside is really nice and you can tell Village Inn is trying to refresh their image. If you feel like breakfast for dinner and free pie on Pie Rush Wednesday, this is the place. They have a large menu and a lot of choices, including a few half sandwich, small salad choices. The food was good but seemed dated compared to the modern feeling restaurant.

Great pie selection and service. They also have a complimentary charging station where you can lock up your device and have it recharge as you eat, very cool!

I have visited this location twice and I would rank them a bit ahead of Denny's but a bit beneath Cracker Barrel all things considered. Our first visit was during dinner and I ordered the chicken-fried chicken which was a bit underwhelming (small & bland). My gf had a cup of their Wisconsin cheese soup to accompany her turkey bacon avocado melt. The sandwich was alright, but not the type of sandwich that would warrant a return. Our breakfast consisted of the usual suspects: eggs, pancakes, bacon etc...again, nothing great enough to warrant a return. I have nothing negative to say in regards to their service, they were polite and attentive. [They refilled my water very quickly which is a rare attribute for some reason] The food won't blow you away, but you can get good value which is always an important factor.

Typical Corporate style Diner that doesn't really stand out in any special way. The food is OK and I have never left disappointed really but never left saying "I can't wait to come back". I think Denny's is better than this place but Village Inn is probably better than IHOP. I do think the hours could be better but that doesn't necessarily reflect on the food or service. I do recommend coming here but again don't expect to be blown away.

1st off the two people that gave this place bad reviews must have been ex-employees that did not make the cut!! Ha ha ..join Yelp to bash with no other reviews?? Humm..?? Went here for lunch and had breakfast!! lots of great menu offers. Had the fried steak skillet delish and big(see pic below) wife had the pick and make your own plate, she said it was good. Gravy and biscuit was awesome! Our server was good I'm sure like all new places you still have to get used to stuff..all good we understand, it was a little busy but she made it happen for us. We will be BACK again and again :-) We love the different choices on the kids menu and the fun concept to make them eat! Fun decor! Retro 50s with a mix of today!! Free charging station!! What!! Awesome !! Thanks for coming to our area and giving us a different style of food in this area!!!

Went here for a breakfast dinner. Had a not so good first impression when we walked in and were told a 15 minute wait along with dozens of other people waiting but noticing the restaurant was hardly even half full. I'll post a pic below of some of the empty tables while there was still people waiting at the door. Our server was great. She was more than willing to tell us what was good and answered all of our questions. The only other negative experience we had was when my friend wanted to get the soup and sandwich combo but get a cheaper sandwich that wasn't one of the options and he was still willing to pay the normal price. The manager said that can't be done because they have no way of ringing it up in the register. After working in a restaurant myself they could have rang up the normal meal and just told the kitchen what kind of sandwich it should be. Not that big of a deal though as the meal he ended up getting he loved which was the adult grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup. I had the create your own omelette which came with pancakes and hashbrowns, I added chocolate chips to my pancakes, they were the best part of the meal, delicious! We then ordered pie. Friend had a French silk pie which was delicious. I got the chocolate peanut butter cup pie to-go since I'm so full so I'll let ya know how that is. Looks good though. One last thing, we asked the cashier to split the check evenly down the middle and he said he could and when finished noticed he charged one of us $15 and the other $12. Not sure why he didn't split t evenly like he said he would and if he couldn't he could have mentioned it. Overall, we will definitely be back. The food was great and I know the place is new so I'm cutting some slack. The restaurant is very cool and hip looking with a tech bar and free phone charging station which is very neat and convenient.

This a new place near a community. It was nice inside it and if you want to eat here they this machine that you can leave and charge you phones. I think it's a great idea so that you can actually have a conversation to each other than keep looking at your phone. I just order the coconut cream pie and I love it because it's not that sweet.

Lindsay was the MOST amazing server I've ever had. Wow! Truly a caring person, great conversationalist, knowledgable about the menu and restaurant. She suggested great menu items-the burger and salads were amazing! The pies were also to die for. Can't wait to visit again so I can stop by here.

I went to the Village Inn for the first time today (Wednesday) and the parking lot was so full I was almost certain there would be a wait. To my surprise, however, I was seated right away. Tammy, my server, was friendly, attentive, and patient with me, because, since it was my first time I wanted to really read the menu. I finally decided to get the V.I.B., which is your choice of four items from a selection of thirty. I chose two eggs over medium, hash browns, rye toast, and two pancakes. This brings me to my only complaint, and it is that the eggs were not properly cooked and the hash browns were dark on one side and white on the other. The edges of the eggs were crispy and in the center near the yolk the white was a bit runny. This indicates that the cooking surface was too hot.

We gave this place another chance after several months since a terrible experience. At that time we were seated, 15 min later we ordered, 30 min later we got out food from another server, and then we did not see another server. Didn't even get our drinks refilled once, and I had to get up and tell someone we needed the check. When I paid at the cashier, I asked for a manager, and no one came to us. after 20 minutes, we left. This time was not too bad, the place was pretty empty a bout 4:30pm. Server Stephanie was very pleasant and professional. The food was fine, and prompt. Funny that when we came for an early dinner yesterday, the manager after asking us if this was our first time there, and we replied no, he said, "Well, we must have done something right." We let it go. We had no issues this time until it came time to pay. We went up to the cashier, but there was no one around to take our money. A lady told us that there would be someone with us momentarily. Well, after 15 minutes, the manager came rushing in and said, "I'm sorry, I was out back dealing with the garbage guys." We let it go. We'll wait several weeks before trying it again. The food was really nothing to write home about, except the pies. Their pies are GREAT! My friend had the Lemon Merengue, and I the Country Apple. The pies and Stephanie kept me from giving it less stars.

The food is good & servers are decent. They just started serving Bloody Mary's & Mimosas after 11a which is a plus. Bad: silverware seems to always have food stuck on them & servers have dirty shirts.

For a cheap eats breakfast/brunch/lunch spot l, this is a great establishment. My wife and I always get the build your own breakfast, which lets you choose 4 different selections off the menu l. I got the scrambled cheese omelet, turkey sausage links, grits and cinnamon pancakes. The food comes out pretty quick, the servers are friendly, and the place is very laid back. Definitely good for all ages. With my wife and I, our bill came to $20 and I left with a full belly and in a happy food coma. I can't wait to try the mimosas, which are only $3.99. They also offer whole pies and by the slice, which I'll have to also try next time when I save some room after breakfast. Located in Fowler's grove. Check it out!

Wow. Service with a capital S! I've been to fine dining restaurants where I haven't gotten this level of service. I was always a fan of the Village Inn when they were in Florida in the 90s, and was sad to see them close most locations, so it's nice to have them back. This location had only been open a week when I went, and corporate management was still very hands-on, but it was clear that they were looking for extraordinary service personnel, and they found them. Everyone I encountered was extremely into their job. The interior of the space is light and modern. I particularly liked the "technology bar" where I sat. I had the same thing I used to always have, a breakfast skillet, and it was prepared just the way I wanted. Coupled with the attentive and friendly service, it was exactly what I'm looking for in a coffee shop breakfast, and I'll definitely return.

Went here after waiting over 30min in chilis. The wait was only 15min. The staff was awesome food was very good and I really enjoyed my pomegranate blueberry lemonade. I had a chicken fried steak with brown gravy that was amazing. We were a big party so we had a couple of people tend to us and we bought a pie to take home since it was our first time there and it was phenomenal. Will definitely be going back already went back for a coconut cream pie oh how yummy it is.

Wow! I really wish there was a zero star option because that is exactly what I would give this restaurant! We had a server named Britley. She apparently was new and had absolutely no idea what she was doing because all she did was go back-and-forth with drinks and walk around and stare and she was only serving two or three tables and we mentioned something to her about where is our food? She just told us we're very busy tonight sorry for the delay and there were at least 15 or 20 empty tables that restaurant was not busy! It took over 30 minutes just to get our food and forget drink refills because that took forever and a day. I finally got tired of waiting for her so we asked another server to get the manager who was messing with the TV trying to do something with the TV on the wall after about 10 minutes of messing with theTV he finally came over and talked to us and barely even apologized. I distinctly got the feeling we were bothering him. We had fish and chips which tasted really fishy and disgusting and we wanted to get something different. So we waited another 20 minutes still no food so we finally just got up and left! I would never recommend anyone to go to that restaurant at least until after maybe they get some people in there who know what they're doing. The manager, of all people working in an establishment, should be the one with a head on his shoulders who can take over apologize and fix the situation. This manager had no interest whatsoever in doing this and It was very apparent in his attitude. But that is fine, Winter Garden can have that little restaurant we definitely will never be back there!!

If you plan on eating here after 9pm, don't. We went in looking for some late night breakfast, and after waiting for 10 minutes, we finally had a waitress! We said the normal "how are you?", and were met with "honestly I've been better what can I get you?" After we ordered, she commented on how disgusting one of the items we ordered was. She then returned with (most of) our order, dropped our check with the entrees, and we never saw her again. We awkwardly got up and had to order our pie to go from the Manager who happened to be the cashier. Other employees were standing around taking selfies with each other and using inappropriate language while talking about their weekend plans. Truly some of the most awful service ever. Food was good but not sure I'd return.

I didn't like the lack of ingredients list on the menu and I found the portions were too small. When it came to their pie, that was the only good part.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I have never EVER had such horrible service in my life. The waiter was extremely rude and obnoxious. He spilled soda on my aunt because he was reaching across table to pour rather then come around. The only good thing about the night was that the Manager was very nice.

I rated down from my 3rd visit to this restaurant. Although the restaurant looks clean, inviting when one first walks in the door, & is greeted kindly, to the left dining area I could clearly see a dining booth table that hadn't been cleared of finished drinks & meal. My family & I, there were four of us seated at a large table. The wooden chairs have hard seats, smaller than seats found in Crackerbarrel, Red Robin. Those small hard wooden chairs hurt after sitting on them for less than an hour. Strongly suggest you select booth seating if you go to this restaurant as booth seating is padded for comfort. Gracious, smiling waitress greeted us & immediately took our drink order. She was bright, quick to please us, after she delivered our drinks she took our food orders. No problems. After she left, I noticed a booth table, two tables away from us, that hadn't been cleared of finished drinks & meal. We had been seated in the left side dining room, this restaurant having 2 separate dining areas. Why hadn't the table in our side of dining area been cleared? Our meals arrived, no problems. I chanced to look towards the open doorway to the kitchen, we were seated within sighting distance. The manager, I could identify him by the tag badge he wore, spent the entire time, we were at table, just inside the kitchen doorway. Why did he stay there? Why didn't he clear the tables? Does this restaurant have a bus boy on staff? This is the second time, in two visits, I've seen dirty tables in this restaurant. I've not seen this at Crackerbarrel, nor at Red Robin. We paid our bill at front of restaurant. Manager was standing just behind the cashier. Why? I retrieved my Iphone from their charging station - it works, no problems there. My brother-in-law brought a slice of Chocolate Silk Pie, took it back home to eat. Great pie. This restaurant has great selection of pies, cakes. However, I'm suspicious the restaurant doesn't make or bake them, only sells them. As we were living the restaurant I glanced at right section of the restaurant and noticed that the dining booth I had seen earlier still hadn't been cleared nor cleaned of glasses, dirty plates. Why? The other restaurants in the area don't do this, they clear & clean table immediately as they have waiting customers. Their dining room always look clean, inviting place to eat in. No, I'm not interested in dining in this restaurant again. My family is different & they will return. However, they find a "Truck Stop" good dining too. My preferences for better family dining experiences: Crackerbarrel, Red Robin, especially when taking children, teens, seniors out for a good meal. Better meal selections, better meals for your money. The Village (In) Restaurant feels more like a "diner" than family restaurant. This restaurant does offer a separate glassed in area for private groups & dining events.

The Village Inn is your pretty typical diner. Although I know pies are their specialty, I don't like pie so I can't comment on it. My husband and I ordered breakfast for lunch and our waitress was very accommodating. I wanted the main entrée, but not the two options that went with it. Our waitress told me it was no big deal to sub them out. The food was good and we'll be back when we're in the mood for breakfast again.

Great late lunch of breakfast food. Server was Josie who was fabulous. Food was fresh and hot and brought out quickly. Restaurant was clean and staff was friendly.

We went there this morning and everything was great! Food was hot and plentiful! Will be returning! The server was also very friendly and was great at her job!

Went last week and it's grand opening so I always give the staff a break for a few weeks during that time because they are learning, the service tho was great the food great and the atmosphere great. Used to be Mimi's but they remodeled and made it there building and it looks great! We will be back and I recommend to all my local friends! Breakfast lunch And dinner all the time and the pie yummmmmmmmmm!

Don't get the sirloin...looked bad and tasted meh. Mashed potatoes needed no gravy. Nice and buttery!

The bar is a great seat to have and you don't have to wait if there is availability. Don't miss out on a free slice of pie with any purchase every Wednesday! Lindsay was awesome and provided great customer service!

Good food, no wait, friendly service - better kids pricing / lower cost would make it a 4-5 star

Really? Bad service. Mediocre food. Might be good for breakfast or a pie. Not good for lunch. Too many other decent choices available close by.
